In the framework of the cooperation that the Albanian authorities have with their partner agencies in France, a workshop was held on December 17 2013 on the premises of the General Prosecution Office whereby in addition to a large number of experts from the Albanian institutions, present were also high level representatives from the General Prosecution, Ministry of Interior and the General Directorate for the Prevention of Money Laundering. The audience was addressed by the French Ambassador in Tirana Mrs. Christine MORO and the Director of Financial Intelligence Unit (TRACFIN) Mr. Jean-Baptiste CARPENTIER.

The panelists did underline the efforts made with respect to the bilateral cooperation aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the experts of the agencies involved in the prevention and tackling of the organized crime and the importance of further consolidation to this end. In his address the General Director of the GDPML, Mr.Genti GAZHELI highlighted the ongoing assistance provided to GDPML by the French authorities and the ever increasing role that the fight against corruption, organized crime and money laundering has in the process of integration of our country into the European Union as well as the importance of the inter-institutional cooperation of the GDPML with the General Prosecution Office and the Albanian State Police in uprooting the organized crime and particularly corruption.
